Come Together

Verse 1

Her feet move slowly across the darkened room

The clock stands frozen at a quarter after noon

The blackened fireplace that’s long since held a glow

Now seems to sense it’s time to goo

Chorus

And we’ll all come together when the sky’s no longer grey

And we’ll all come together when night fades into day

When the winter turns and love returns and sorrow slips away

And we’ll all come together in the end

Verse 2

The street is lonely with no-one passing by

The church yard; empty, like the cold Decembersky

So many memories lie buried in the snow

But not enough to let them go

Bridge

How many years have passed since you last held my hand?

She kneels beside the stone but doesn’t understand

Why life is fleeting and so quickly cast aside

To leave her drifting on the tide

Verse 3

Her feet move slowly as if to make no sound

The flowers; frozen, fall softly to the ground

What chance forgotten dreams her love could never know?

When all too soon he had to go

Chorus

And we’ll all come together when the sky’s no longer grey

And we’ll all come together when night fades into day

When the winter turns and love returns and sorrow slips away

And we’ll all come together in the end
